10 Thoughts: OSU downs Pitt in wrestling

No. 2 Oklahoma State 26, No. 17 Pittsburgh 14

1. It was great to see Klimara score from neutral, and to look offensive in his match. Only a true freshman, points from him at NCAA’s would be key.

2. Dorrell and Feikert did not put up much of a fight. I’m not too sure anybody really knows the status of Morrison, but he is vital to the Pokes’ success.

3. Oliver has been trying to work on his mat wrestling and certainly had the chance to today. He would have liked to get the pin, but remember, these guys are big.

4. Dieringer…I’m telling you, he’s becoming an all-time great. If you are looking for a favorite wrestler for the next four years…pick him.

5. I think we can all be happy with Caldwell, as long as he beats everyone! At least you know what you are going to get from him!

6. Chris Perry keeps working to score big points, and he has plenty of time for the season to get a pin move that works from top. I guarantee you that is all he thinks about at night.

7. Chionuma is this season’s most improved wrestler. We all know the exact point in this season that changed him into a top-ranked wrestler. Those were two tough kids he beat this weekend. Great season from him.

8. Great match from Rosholt. He did great avoiding any offense from Wilps, I’ll take a 3OT loss to the #2 wrestler any day of the week. He isn’t afraid to attack the top ranked wrestlers and that is great to see.

9. Gelogaev is going to be missed by the Cowboy fans. He always gives the fans a reason to stick around and watch the last match of the dual. If it weren’t for those injuries the past several seasons, he would have a lot more fans, and a lot more records.

10. That match concludes the home dual meet season. There has been a lot of fan support this season, and this teams looks to be pretty special. We should see Penn State in a couple weeks in the National Duals finals, and that will certainly tell us where we are at…should be a little bit closer than most wrestling fans will think!

  1. You got the wrong video.

  2. I don’t believe Penn State will be at National Duals. They haven’t the last couple years.
