Big 12 Prop Bets – Week 7

Our resident podcast/gambling novice, Matty Amilian, will be bringing you this fun little fake gambling post from here on out for the rest of the Big 12 schedule. Enjoy!

I’m down another twenty fictitious PFB dollars thanks to Collin Klein ignoring his chance to rack up some passing yards against KU. Of our 38 bettors, 29 of you took the over on Klein’s rushing yards at 78. Well played. The rest all equaled out.

The Landry Jones’ rushing yards vs OSU total points was a push as Landry rushed for a season high…zero yards.

Here’s my attempt to make OSU’s least interesting conference game a little more intriguing for you, plus a few extras from around the Big 12.

1) OSU -27.5 at KU

Huge line move in favor of the Cowboys. I believe it opened at -22. Any of you dare to take Kansas +27.5?

2) OSU-KU Total Points Over/Under: 73.5

I can just as easily see this as a 55-27 game as I could a 47-14 game. If real money was on the line, I don’t think I could take the under.

3) West Virginia -3.5 at Texas Tech

The only thing stranger than this line is that it was actually bet down as more money came in on Texas Tech when it opened. To the gullible public eye (mine), this is a no-brainer but I’m curious to see how you all bet it.

Is WVU due for a letdown game after a big conference road win? Could this game be the weekend’s Florida State-NC State?

4) Which will be greater? Interceptions Dayne Crist throws or rushing TDs for Joseph Randle

If there is ever a time for our All-Universe corners to finally start picking off some passes, Dayne Crist is the candidate to get them going (TD:Int ratio of 3:7).

However, Weis’ decision to leave seniors out of practice earlier this week might have prevented Crist from getting the practice he needs to continue throwing INTs. By the way, I’m predicting a pick-six for the Pokes this weekend.

5) Alright I’ll put my faux money where my mouth is. Will OSU get a pick-six in Lawrence on Saturday?

6) Total points scored in the Big 12 this weekend: 335

After pulling up the matchups, I spent ten seconds on figuring this number. It’s considered cheating if you spend more time than that in making your decision.

7) Who wins: OU or Texas?

Do it. Pick the Sooners to win and see if I don’t share your name on next week’s post. Do it.

8) Which will be greater? OSU Total Points or Charlie Weis’ belt size
