“Boomer Sooner” Played Record Number of Times During Bedlam
Have you ever gone to an OU game and wondered to yourself: “HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO PLAY BOOMER SOONER?!”
Well, thanks to a very concentrated individual who counted every time it was played this season, now we know the answer to that question. The OU band played the “Boomer Sooner” song 110 times during Bedlam this year – tied for the record high this season with the Tennessee game (which went to 2 overtimes, I might add). A total of 948 times on the season.

According to my calculations, if the “Boomer Sooner” song lasts :50 seconds as the YouTube video suggests, that’s 47,400 seconds of that horrendous song that has been played this season – a whopping 790 minutes of playing time, and the equivalent to over 13 hours!
