Brighter Orange Comes To North Texas on February 17

On Friday, February 17 the Oklahoma State Alumni Association will host its 12th annual Brighter Orange of North Texas event at Dallas Country Club at 6 p.m.

The Alumni Association has raised nearly $1 million in the last decade for scholarships for kids from North Texas looking to attend Oklahoma State. There will be a buffet, open bar, live music and silent and live auctions that include the following prizes.

Actually, let’s rank these prizes:

1. Hand Crafted Carving by Walt Garrison. I imagine this is what Garrison spends his days doing — just carving wood and blowing through pipes the size of baseball bats. True ‘Merican right there. I don’t even care what the carving is. I just want one.

2. Sonoma Trip. As long as Mike Holder is there and I get to drink wine with him and ask him about that Travis Ford contract.

3. Round of golf with Alan Bratton at Karsten Creek Golf Course. Karsten Creek is not ready for me.

4. OSU Football Helmet Autographed by Coach Gundy. Does the helmet have a mullet or nah?

5. Tour of OSU Campus with Ann Hargis. I imagine this would be an absolute delight. Rolling around with the First Cowgirl on a Pistol Pete-themed golf cart. Here is the Classroom Building where our students study economics. Here is the Student Union where our students rest, relax and eat Chick-fil-A. And here is Boone Pickens Stadium WHERE MASON RUDOLPH TOOK THE TOP OFF AN OVERRATED PITTSBURGH DEFENSE!

6. Autographed copy of The Last Putt. Is it autographed by Tiger?

Sadly, being a guest on the Pistols Firing Podcast did not make this year’s list.

Anyway, I will be there on Friday as a guest of my friend Steve Moomau, and I hope to see you guys as well. If you see me and Mrs. Pistols, come say hi. I’d love to chat.

You can purchase tickets here.
