Oh yeah, we still have a national title-contending football team to dote on. I almost forgot among all the KD mania. Back at it on the blog today.

Fantastic story by Graham Hayes on OSU soccer and Colin Carmichael’s obsession with Glasgow vs. Celtic. Well worth your time. (ESPN)

Keiton thinks there’s something different about this year’s squad. (O’Colly)

Bill Snyder: “[Weeden's] almost as old as I am.” (Kansas City Star)

Gina Mizell needs your help. (NewsOK)

John Klein on why consistency is the only thing that matters now. (Tulsa World)

You want to hear a stat of the day? OSU lost an exhibition basketball game in 2000. How has OSU ever lost an exhibition basketball game, much less with a team featuring Desmond Mason and Doug Gottlieb?! Hoops team tips tonight. (okstate.com)

Mike Huguenin says OU gave OSU the blueprint to beat K-State. And OSU approves. (Rivals)

Bedlam part III at the Big 12 tournament. (O’Colly)

Chris Weinke on Brandon Weeden: “I’m a little biased with him, having been in the same situation. I just like the way he operates out there. He throws it with arc and with pace. He just looks comfortable.” (ESPN)

So Berry Tramel is going to preview Bedlam every week until Bedlam happens? (NewsOK)

Why two whistles might be the key to OSU’s season. (Tulsa World)

OSU Iowa State moved from 8:15 to 7. Great, so it’ll be 31 degrees instead of 25. (Big 12 Sports)

Insider, but Ryan McCrystal says he doesn’t know what would happen with the Heisman if LSU and OSU win out because neither has a serious Heisman contender even though his little Heisman predictor toy has Blackmon in 3rd right now. (ESPN Insider)

Grant Garner: “[this is] the most fun we’ve had since I’ve been here, without question.” (NewsOK)

Good stuff from Kendall Hunter on his recent visit to Stillwater (h/t coachgundy.com). (49ers.com)

13 Cowgirls named Academic All-Big 12. (okstate.com)

TFord: “It’s the best roster, top to bottom, that we’ve had in my time here.” (NewsOK)

Not that we needed reminding…

Cool story on Bullet (for whom the Daily Bullets are named)…

A team with those two (Mason and Gottleib) and Adrian Peterson (O State bball version) lost to a 5 win Florida Atlantic squad. OUCH!

The 2000-01 squad didn’t have those guys on it, they grad in 2000. The 99-00 has their last year.

  • pogi2woods

The exhibition loss was strange because we played in Enid instead of GIA, which was in the final stages of the expansion. Tloaf is right, this was the team with Vic, Mo, Melvin, Fred, Webber, Andre.

Jeremy – weirdest fact about the Fla Atlantic loss.. Doug sets the school record with 17 assists. How does he have 17 assists and we still lose??

That blog post from Kendall must have taken forever for him to text out on his phone.
