Big changes coming for me soon. I’ll have an announcement on here in the next few weeks.

Football

Great post here on Monken. He talks about how he’s driven by fear above anything else. (NewsOK)

Quinn Sharp, three-time All-American. (Tulsa World)

Interesting story on Torrance Carr and his passion for fashion. (O’Colly)

Terrance Williams for Heisman? (Dallas Morning News)

I think he leaves. And I think he should. (Rivals)

Good statistical breakdown of the game here. (Our Daily Bears)

Gundy says Randle has gotten more serious lately. (NewsOK)

I second this, although I would add that this is all playing out exactly how Jimmy Sexton wants it to. (CRFF)

Hoops

Is Marcus Smart’s stat line good this year or no? (NewsOK)

Wow, #1 in the Big 12 power rankings. (Rush The Court)

OSU ranked #5 (!) in ESPN’s BPI rankings. Kentucky is #29 so…not sure how much weight to put into this. (ESPN)

Other

My five favorite football helmets from 2012. (Jared Gallagher)

New DB recruit. (Scout)

Interesting look at how lucky Notre Dame has actually been this year (hint: not very). (Football Outsiders)

I’ve been saying he’d end up at Texas since I started this blog.

Just because…

Pretty interesting looking flick with Seven from FNL and Roger from Mad Men.

Watching the highlights from that Baylor game last year, just reminded me how fun last year was and how good that team really was. Awesome.

    Big Changes?

Kyle was a good bowler, and a good man.

I don’t think Randle should leave. He talks about how his goal is to get a degree – go get that degree. Playing in the NFL is his dream, and one he is going to achieve – this year or next. He will get more exposure next year by playing on a better, more highly ranked team while breaking records. Either way, the Pokes will live (and be fine) without him.

I am a huge Randall fan, but RB is a tough position to break into in the NFL. I don’t see him being a top 3 round pick (deservedly or not,) so does he think he can break into the top 3 rounds by coming back?

Watching those highlights make me realize: I miss Justin Blackmon

There is a 10 page thread on Orangepower wherein everyone is arguing whether or not calling someone fast twitch is racist or not. I love this blog so, so much right now.

If you want to know these big changes, follow me on Twitter @mattamilian and I’ll go all PistolsGuy/OSU uniforms and release the information prior to his big, planned announcement

The fade to Blackmon around the 2:33 mark is nothing short of amazing.

I also watch those highlights and wish Sims wasn’t a dope.

I think Joe Randle will return for his senior year. Really, I’ve always thought him an outstanding running back – a perfect compliment to the offensive scheme, but his body-type is so lithe and stream-lined that I don’t see how he can yet take the NFL pounding. I read once that the average career for a running back is only three years.

I hope he remains in Stillwater, earn a national championship, and add another 10-15 pounds of muscle on his frame for the pros.

The avg career period in the NFL is around 3.7 years…I think…
