Light Sleepers
In an article loaded with college football goodies, CBS has the Pokes in a third tier of national title contenders around some of college football’s most solid brands.
18. Texas (25/1)
19. Oklahoma State (50/1)
20. Miami (Fla.) (80/1)
21. Stanford (85/1)
Who says Miami can’t win the Coastal, get to the ACC Championship Game and knock off Florida State in a second meeting of the season? (Except, you know, they’ve never done it before.)Oklahoma State doesn’t seem as far behind Oklahoma as the odds suggest, though I would certainly consider it and Texas has the best chance to knock off the Sooners and steal a playoff spot. [CBS Sports]
The numbering system is representative of 100 facts for 100 days to college football but the list has the Pokes with the 14th best odds for a title. For as much hand-wringing there is around Oklahoma State’s football trinity, Oklahoma State fans are reaping the reward of seeing the brand in lights between the likes of Mighty Texas and the U.
Bedlam Rewind
The second game of Bedlam Saturday was a lot like Bedlam football 2012, but Oklahoma State closed this time.
“It tops the cake for me,” Lienhard said. “This is what we play for, Bedlam baseball, a chance to make it to the Big 12 Tournament. I just tried to battle and keep us in the game the best I could.”
In the two games, OU led only briefly, for half of an inning.
“They got momentum over there, they’re going to take advantage of it, and they did a good job of that,” OU coach Pete Hughes said. “Lienhard pitched very well and pitched out of tough situations. [NewsOK]
Unspoiled games where the Cowboys lead all day are the best. Bedlam 2012 saw the Pokes lead until the closing seconds, while this round saw the Pokes lead for eight and a half innings and hold on. Thankfully there were no Bell brothers to ruin the day.
