Daily Bullets (September 7)
Football news
Pretty wild stat here. Of Rudolph’s nine first-quarter pass attempts, six were at targets zero to five yards downfield. Good breakdown of the offense there by Kyle Fredrickson. (NewsOK)
Robert Allen breaks down the playcalling even further. Again, I don’t necessarily disagree with him, but it sure feels a little bit like we (all of us) are trying as hard as we can to find reasons why Mike Yurcich might still be a really great offensive coordinator. It’s OK if he’s just good or above average, you know. (Go Pokes)
This is why I’m not quick to criticize Mike Yurcich. OSU runs a lot of run-pass option stuff dependent on its QB (who, in this case, doesn’t always make the right decision). (CRFF)
There are a total of 13 former OSU players who made NFL rosters. Ten of them are on the Cowboys (not really … but close). (Go Pokes)
The two issues that were present last September might be present again this September. (Tulsa World)
Around the Big 12
Berry Tramel has OSU ranked No. 3 in the Big 12 after Week 1. I could be talked into anywhere between 3-5 based on how OSU played. (NewsOK)
Speaking of rankings, I like how Clay Travis does his. No preseason bias. Texas A&M is No. 1. (OKTC)
Here is PFB’s recap of Week 1 in the Big 12. Good work by Kaid Kinzie. (PFB)

The Kansas State band apologized for “not doing anything wrong.” (Yahoo)
Other sports
My favorite Desmond Mason dunk ever. (PFB)
OSU beat Georgia at Pebble Beach. That’s what I like to hear. (okstate)
I’m not excited about the upcoming OSU season, but I am excited about Jawun Evans.
More stuff I’m reading
This makes me want to read the Judd Apatow book. (Kleon)
