Gundy still hasn’t signed contract

When Bill Haisten writes on Mike Gundy and Mike Holder, you should read it.

Either way, it is believed that Gundy’s dissatisfaction with the terms centers as much on the bigger picture — including pay for assistant coaches and members of his support staff — as on his own compensation. It is believed also that Gundy absolutely will not sign the amended contract as it currently is constituted. [Tulsa World]

Great news for PFB (drama!). Terrible news for OSU fans!

Pros and Cons of No. 2 turning pro

This article did not age well with #sources saying Rudy was going to stay last night, but here is one con to turning pro.

Who needs the NFL when you can play in the Big 12 championship game at the home of the Dallas Cowboys? Don’t leave when it’s set to get really fun. Rudolph was hurt and hardly played against Oklahoma in 2015. Does he really want to let Mayfield return for a chance to win a third straight Bedlam game without taking part as the fun returns to Stillwater? [ESPN]

I’m not sure this is the proper way to think about your future (see below re: Christian McCaffrey), but I do hope this is the way Rudolph thinks about it.

Tulsa Hammers CMU

Well I’m glad we have TU next year and not this year, especially after what CMU did in Stillwater in September.

Central Michigan’s defense had no answers for the Golden Hurricane offensive attack all day as Tulsa rolled up 581 total yards of offense on 6.8 yards per play, even with Tulsa taking the foot off the gas in the fourth quarter. [CBS Sports]

McCaffrey Ejects From Palo Alto

No. 5 won’t be playing in the Sun Bowl.

When Stanford faces North Carolina in the Sun Bowl on Dec. 30, it will do so without star running back Christian McCaffrey.

McCaffrey announced Monday morning that he will not participate in the game in order to begin preparing for the NFL draft “immediately.” McCaffrey, a junior who was the Heisman runner-up in 2015, announced his decision to leave school early for the NFL earlier this month. [Yahoo]

Lot of consternation from CFB truthers here. I have no issue with it. You go to college to get a job, and McCaffrey doesn’t want anything to impede that. But nobody ever gets hurt in an exhibition game with millions on the line, right?
