I’m not even mad about last night. I’m only curious to see how Underwood uses his pieces to get better. It’s funny how our perception of the coach who came before the current coach affects the way we view the current coach (indifference towards Ford, optimism with Undie).

PFF Ranks Rudolph in top three

Mason Rudolph, Baker Mayfield and Lamar Jackson.

Rudolph has had the fastest rise up these rankings in the second half of the season, and he currently owns the second-highest PFF grade among QBs (behind Mayfield, and one spot ahead of Jackson) at 91.9. His passing duel with Mayfield in two weeks when Oklahoma State and Oklahoma meet in the Bedlam game should be outstanding. Rudolph has done some of his best work this season on deep passes, ranking second in QB rating in the Power-5 on throws of 20-plus yards. [PFF]

That is some big time praise. Bedlam gonna be lit.

Zach Sinor snubbed

This is a good post showing Zach Sinor’s value compared to other Ray Guy finalists.

While Sinor is the only one on the list to have a blocked kick, he has more than made up for it with one lonely touchback. That is incredible. After looking up the stats, I feel he and Johnston could be interchangeable, but what ultimately hurts Sinor’s resume is his average. One could argue that the OSU offense doesn’t allow him to have a better average, since they often get to midfield or better before having to punt. Either way, Sinor has had one hell of a season, and we love him for it. [CRFF]

Look at the inside-the-20 percentage. Sinor’s is outrageous.

The world we live in

Where OSU has a better argument to make for the CFB Playoffs because they didn’t lose to Ohio State. Here’s Berry Tramel.

But Oklahoma State doesn’t have the head-to-head problem with Ohio State. If the Cowboys beat OU to finish 10-2, and Ohio State finishes 10-2 with a loss to Michigan, OSU would at least have an argument to make. A conference title, which Ohio State wouldn’t have, and a loss that really wasn’t a loss. [NewsOK]

I hate this sport.

Snyder on the verge of Win No. 200

I did not remember this. Neither did Bill Snyder.

Here are the major-college coaches with at least 200 victories at a single school: Penn State’s Joe Paterno, Florida State’s Bobby Bowden, Alabama’s Bear Bryant, Brigham Young’s Lavell Edwards, Nebraska’s Tom Osborne, Virginia Tech’s Frank Beamer, Ohio State’s Woody Hayes and Georgia’s Vince Dooley. Kansas State’s Bill Snyder can join that group on Saturday, when the Wildcats host Kansas. “How I put it in perspective is best said that until you brought it up, I had paid no attention to it,” Snyder said. “To me, it’s another number.” [NewsOK]

He is the best. He probably has a different bowl windbreaker for every win, too.

Big 12 reeling

Good point here that the Big 12 might not fill all its bowl slots.

So our Week 12 bowl projections, calling for the higher-ranked Sooners to win Bedlam — that’s not a prediction, yet — place OU in the Allstate Sugar Bowl and OSU in the Valero Alamo Bowl. For the first time this year, we’re cutting short the Big 12 bowl roster at six teams. The league could still get seven teams eligible — if TCU loses at Texas and then the Horned Frogs beat Kansas State. [ESPN]

Good job, Texas schools. OSU is not reeling, by the way. Here are the longest current winning streaks in the country.

RBs Spread the Wealth

This is a pretty crazy stat. Kyle Fredrickson talks about how the Cowboy Backs have helped OSU.

For what’s believed to be the first time in Oklahoma State history, four different Cowboys enter the final week of the regular season with at least five rushing touchdowns. [NewsOK]

This coincides with what I told Carson the other day on our pod — the offense has come full circle. The Big 10/SEC in Mike Gundy is strong, and he wants to run the football. He doesn’t want to air it out. OSU is running it as well as it has in years, and all is right in his world.
