Football News

Mason Rudolph: “I want to be the best quarterback I can be for Oklahoma State. I wake up, and I want to earn it every single day. I think I’ve done a good job of that, and I want to continue to.” [O’Colly]

Dillon Stoner beat James Washington in a big summer conditioning test, and James Washington wasn’t too happy about that. [NewsOK]

Chandler Vessels is quickly becoming one of my favorite reads. He writes on Ramon Richard’s backstory here. Must read. [O’Colly]

Totally agree w/ this: In conclusion, I’m not saying that Oklahoma State needs to schedule Florida State in Jerry World or Mississippi State in Houston, but I would like to see some better competition in the non-conference, and I like the way things are headed in the near future. With the Big 12 being left out of the College Football Playoff in the past, teams have to make a statement in every game they play, and you can’t do this by scheduling FCS opponents who do nothing for your football resume. Behind enemy lines with Southeastern Louisiana. This is tremendous. [PFB]

Glenn Spencer on the new commercial flights in and out of Stillwater: “He’s not having to go up I-35 for 45 minutes and then across 51 for 15 minutes. There’s not a lot to see. Oklahoma City or Tulsa, either way there’s not a lot of steel between Stillwater and those two places, not a lot of neon lights.” [Tulsa World]

Mike Gundy: “We’re a healthy football team and practice has been going very well. We’re excited about playing a game. The offense and defense have gone against themselves so much that I think they’re ready to play a game. So we’re looking forward to it and we still need the next four or five practices to get ready.” [Go Pokes – $]

Mike Gundy on Mason Rudolph: “He finally understands.” [PFB]
