Four-star Safety DeMarvion Overshown Names OSU in Top 15
Four-star safety/outside linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has cut his list in half, announcing on Thursday he’s whittled his list to 15 schools: Texas A&M, Baylor, Auburn, Florida State, OU, Arkansas, Florida, OSU, Ohio State, TCU, Clemson, Texas, Alabama, LSU and Stanford.
Overshown is a monster pass-rusher who can get after the quarterback off the edge in a hurry, but will likely drop into the secondary as a pass protector in college.
As a junior last season (his first full season at safety), he was named the District 9-3A-II Defensive MVP, racking up 153 tackles, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery for Arp High School. He’s rated as the 109th best prospect nationally in the class of 2018 and the No. 11 safety/outside linebacker. He plays on both sides of the ball for small-school Arp where he starred last season, leading them to an appearance in the Texas Class 3A Division II state semifinals.
OSU does not have a commitment at the safety position for 2018, however Texas, who is predicted as the favorite for Overshown, currently holds a safety pledge from five-star prospect Caden Sterns, the younger brother of Jordan.
