Trae Young Targeting January Decision

Trae Young, the five-star point guard from Norman North, is targeting to make a college decision in January according to a report from Adam Zagoria.

Young made an official visit to Oklahoma State over homecoming, and is reportedly down to four according to the report: Kansas, Kentucky, OSU, and OU.

The Cowboys recently sent a huge group of coaches down to watch him play on Sunday in Texas, lead by head coach Brad Underwood. OU’s Lon Kruger was also on hand.

“It means a lot,” Young said about the coaches making the trip to see him play. “Some of the schools had practice the next morning and made the trip up here. The whole staff came so it showed a lot.”

Oklahoma State assistant Mike Boynton, who has taken the lead on Young’s recruitment, also made the trip to see him.

The timetable for his commitment isn’t set in stone, but Young says an announcement might come ‘probably in early January.’ Oklahoma State has three commitments in the 2017 class with Zach Dawson (SG/PG), Latravian Glover (SF), and Souleymane Diakite (PF). If Underwood can add Young to the mix of youngsters, it could round out an impressive signing class during his first year as the head coach.
