2017 DB Montaric Brown Interested in OSU, LSU
Oklahoma State extended an offer to under-the-radar defensive back Montaric Brown recently, a 6-1 safety from Ashdown, Ark. Just days after the offer, LSU also jumped in the mix. It’s still early in the recruiting process, but he already is focused on two schools.
“Right now I’m interested in Oklahoma State and LSU,” he told The Times-Picayunne.
Oklahoma State did not sign a safety in the 2016 recruiting class, so targeting a safety who can come in and compete right away is a big goal for the coaching staff. In Brown the Cowboys would have a lengthy safety who has excellent explosion and cover skills.
Here’s the scouting report from varsity preps:
Well-sized cornerback with outstanding physical skills.
Fast, explosive and sudden. Solid open field tackler.
Fluid and smooth, flips his hips transitioning with opponents down the field and has a closing burst to the ball.
Explodes to the ball out of his plant and shows a good closing burst.
Instinctive, athletic and has great ball skills.
