2017 DE Brock Martin Commits to Oklahoma State
It’s been a great week for Joe Bob Clements and his group in recruiting. Last week, 2017 defensive end Nelson Mbanasor chose the Pokes over a plethora of other options. And on Wednesday evening, more good news came when 2017 end Brock Martin, a recent offer from Oologah, Oklahoma, announced he was committed to OSU.
I am blessed that I am able to say that I will be furthering my education and football career at Oklahoma State University!! ?? #GoPokes

D-line coach Joe Bob Clements was the first to break the news on twitter with the classic “pistols firing” tweet. And the rest of the staff was quick to chime in.

Martin is the 11th verbal pledge of the 2017 class and third defensive lineman joining end Nelson Mbanasor and defensive tackle Brendon Evers.
Not only did coaches chime in, but 2017 commits – “StillySquad17” members as they term themselves – were pretty stoked about the commitment on twitter.

Martin is a 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect, who also held offers from Baylor, Texas Tech, K-State, Tulsa, Memphis, Kansas, Utah State and Wyoming.
Oklahoma State offered a scholarship just this week. So it appears the offer from the Cowboys was the one Martin was waiting for, and he took no time at all to pull the trigger.
Per his HUDL film, Martin tallied 96 tackles and 17 sacks his junior season, despite missing several games at the beginning of the season recovering from an ACL injury.
Martin is a highly productive end for Oologah who uses his strength to just overpower defenders on the edge, and has really active and strong hands to help him win at the point of attack. At 6-3, 210, Martin is the biggest prospect but he has a really good frame and a motor that never stops. In other words, he has really big upside. And he’s an excellent complement to Mbanasor on the other side.
Here’s an example of that motor: The last play of the sequence in the video below, he chases the ball down across the field and didn’t give up on the play. He’s active, alert, and energetic.

Check out his HUDL below. Scroll to about the 2:15 mark for a really good example of the hustle and energy Martin can bring to the table for the Pokes.
