2017 Prospect To Watch: CB Tre Brown
Oklahoma State has already got off to a hot start in the 2017 recruiting class, nabbing the top player in the state in linebacker Levi Draper. With the Cowboys focus to improve the recruitment in-state, Tre Brown is a prospect to certainly keep an eye on moving forward.
Brown is rated as a four-star cornerback from Tulsa Union, who I believe is just scratching the surface of his potential. Scout already ranks him as the No. 1 cornerback in Oklahoma in 2017, and the No. 224 prospect in the nation.
He’s flying well below the radar for now. Currently, he holds offers from Arkansas State, Tulsa, and Louisville.
Don’t be surprised if OSU joins that list very soon.
The Cowboys love to throw speed out on the field, and the defensive back position is one that requires versatility, smarts, and speed. At a recent camp in June, Brown reportedly ran a 4.33-second 40-yard dash.
Brown was a big playmaker for the Redskins as a sophomore last year, compiling 3 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery, and 46 total tackles. He also had 212 kick return yards, 101 punt return yards, and 1 touchdown. Versatility is his forte.
With a solid junior year, he could improve his stock as a recruit and burst on the radar locally and nationally. Especially on a Union squad that could be a championship contending 6A team.
