4 Key Plays – Kansas State

These are way late but here are four of the biggest plays from last Saturday night…

Justin Blackmon does bad things to collegiate defensive backs. Very bad things.

This was Weeden’s “eff you, Andrew Luck” drive. It was also the drive where I was laying prostrate on my living room floor with visions of Thayer Evans sending me a 3-word DM on Twitter: “I told you” dancing in my head. Well they weren’t dancing, but you get the picture.

How many big plays is James Thomas going to make this year. Also, how many strange two-person sidelines interceptions is Brodrick Brown going to be involved in during his career?

Pretty strong of Monken to hand it to his matrix in the backfield when Weeden was as hot as he was.

  1. The move Randle puts on the kstate safety is unreal!

  2. I bet I have watched the Brodrick tip to Thomas INTERCEPTION 20 times. Watch how Thomas drags his back foot TWICE to stop his momentum from going out of bounds-stops on a dime right on the out of bounds line before taking off and being so close to score. Aslo, the main KSU tackler actually went out of bounds, and was still out of bounds when he brought Thomas down…is that legal?

  3. I suspect the last TD play of the K-State game was not necessarily designed to score, but merely to gain the first down (3rd & 1-yard) and, as an added bonus, run more time off the clock. The time was, at that point in the game, 2:22 left in the 4th Quarter.

After Blackmon scores the TD to make it 43, watch Chelf grab him on the sidelines and shove him back on the field to get the 2pt conversion.
