Ashton Lampkin Reportedly Ruled out for this Weekend
Just a year after suffering what turned out to be a season-ending injury in the Texas Tech game, cornerback Ashton Lampkin has reportedly been ruled out for this weekend’s contest in Lubbock.
According to a tweet citing Robert Allen’s insight, Lampkin suffered a broken thumb and will not play this weekend.
Lampkin has been the starter this season alongside Kevin Peterson, but the group altogether has been pretty banged up.
Facing a team that ranks third in the country in passing yards per game, Lampkin’s loss could be a big one this weekend. Graduate transfer Michael Hunter and sophomore Ramon Richards will likely see more playing time this weekend due to the injury.
