Bedlam Features Two of the Hottest Teams In The Country
Bedlam next Saturday will feature two of the hottest teams in the country. Neither school lost in October or November as they hurtled towards a de facto conference championship game. But it’s not just the Big 12 where they’re succeeding. OU and Oklahoma State have two of the current longest winning streaks nationally as well.
Here are the top six.
- Alabama: 24
- Western Michigan: 14
- USC: 8
- Penn State: 8
- Oklahoma: 8
- Oklahoma State: 7
Alabama, my gosh. Also, somebody hire P.J. Fleck.
Oklahoma State and Oklahoma have won a combined 15 in a row. Somebody is going to be scorching hot heading into the postseason (likely the Sugar Bowl) with a final leaping off point of a Bedlam win.
Might the momentum of each team be stymied by the off week and Thanksgiving? Perhaps, but it’s doubtful. I think it’s actually difficult to lose the flow this time of year. If anything, the bye week will provide a re-grouping of sorts — more time to watch film and more time to mentally and physically prepare for what should be one of the great Bedlams ever.
“Everyone is focused on the team. We all know what we’re playing for and we all know what’s at stake,” OU safety Steven Parker told the Norman Transcript. “It’s about being smart this week and being safe throughout the holiday and coming back with an edge.”
