Big 12 Coach On New OSU RB: ‘One of the Fastest Guys In Texas’

One of my favorite things Jake Trotter and the fellas over at ESPN do every year is this anonymous Big 12 coaches survey on National Signing Day. This year, they talked to coaches about who the best recruits will end up being as well as the most underrated ones.

The best answer (from an OSU fan’s perspective) was this on new running back L.D. Brown. “One of the fastest guys in Texas. He has that Tavon Austin type of speed and he has really good ball skills.”

Tavon! ???

Being “one of the fastest guys in Texas” is basically like being the fastest human ever in 46 of the other 49 states. It’s no joke either. Take a look at his tape here. There’s a bunch of footage of him running track for DeSoto. Dude can fly.

“I love to run track and our 4X200 relay team won state last year,” Brown said told Robert Allen. “This season we had a lot of injuries but we went back to state in the 4X100 and we had the best 4X200 time in the state.”

Here’s what one coach said about Devin Harper: “He’s a special kid. If he was in Texas instead of Tennessee … his tape is pretty impressive.”

And Keondre Wudtee: “He’s a nice player. He’s raw, but he has talent. I think Wudtee will become a good player for them.”

The entire post from Trotter is excellent and you should definitely read it.
