Big Visitors Expected in Stillwater on Friday

Crootin’ season is picking up in Stillwater.

Things are going to get more interesting on the recruiting trail building up to the spring football game on April 16. Yesterday, quarterback Myles Brennan said he would be on campus for an unofficial visit all the way from Mississippi. And on Friday, the Cowboys are hosting a slew of visitors on what will be a scrimmage day today for the football squad. Here’s some of the visitors expected to be in town:

Myles Brennan – Quarterback

Day 2 of the unofficial visit for Brennan, the No. 2 ranked quarterback in the state of Mississippi. Brennan has offers from California, Memphis, and others. As I mentioned yesterday, the interest between OSU and Brennan clearly goes both ways, especially if he’s coming all the way from Mississippi. He’s listed at 6-3, 180-pounds and is a pro-style quarterback – something I suspect the Cowboys will target in this cycle.

Tramonda Moore – Offensive tackle

Moore was the headliner of the 2016 class and last-minute coup for offensive line coach Greg Adkins. Moore is a 6-foot-6, 330-pound freak who is expected to be on campus later this summer. Although reports surfaced that he may be headed to junior college, all signs at the moment point to the big four-star freak being in Stillwater for fall camp. He’ll be on campus today.

Nyc Burns – Quarterback

Burns is the low-key steal of the 2016 recruiting class, getting a scholarship player for the price of a walk-on. He’s been at every practice this spring. He’s eager. He’s ready to be on campus, and he’s showing off his leadership by making practice a priority.. Which is great to see for someone who obviously isn’t a required attendee for practice yet.

Logan Long – Tight end / Linebacker / Defensive end

Long is a standout prospect from Woodward, OK, who I think the Cowboys like more at Cowboy back. This is one of several visits for the in-state tight end – so the interest seems to be mutual. 6-5, 240-pounds who is a versatile athlete playing multiple positions for the Woodward Boomers makes him an intriguing prospect.

Adrian Wolford – Offensive line

Wolford was one of the first commitments for the 2017 class. The 6-5, 310-pound prospect from Meeker also has an offer from TU, but the Pokes jumped in early and swooped him up. He reportedly grew up as an OU fan, so having him on campus and developing relationships with the players and coaches is obviously a big deal.
