Rachal, a concencus four-star small forward also has an opportunity to play at the next level as a wide receiver. However OSU is looking at him for basketball. Here’s what he told the Times-Picayunne about his prospects at the next level in both sports:
“A lot of schools that have recruiting me for basketball are talking to me about coming there to play football and basketball now, because I had a pretty exceptional junior year for football,” the 6-foot-6 junior said. “So I’m starting to consider football, too, as an option, but I’m leaning more toward basketball.”
Just in the past three days, the 6-6, 190-pound wing has been offered by OSU, VCU and most recently from Virginia. For basketball.
As a junior from Natchitoches, LA, Rachal averaged 15 points per game and lead Natchitoches Central to a 5A state championship. The big-time wing prospect has plenty of athleticism on the football field, too. He racked up an impressive 1,139 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns as a junior and earned 5A all-state honors.
