Closer Look: New Black-White-Orange Football Uniform

Published

on

Here’s our second look at the new OSU uniforms (first we looked at WBW). This time it’s BWO (which has been tops on this blog for a long time. Let’s get to the takes.

Knox

Sadly I think this is one that took a bit of a hit for the team. The black numbers on the white top really make the BWB combos look ten times better, but I think it detracts from what was my favorite tri-color combo by making the orange pants stand out just a bit too much from the rest of the set. But that’s just my $.02, I could easily be in the minority here.

Carson

This has long been the favorite combo for me and Kyle. The curse was lifted in Bedlam and now it is spreading its wings. The switch to black numerals is such a great move for the white jerseys. Definitely one of my favorite tweaks.

If we have to wait until December 3rd for this combo, I understand, but I’m ready to see these in action now. Like, tomorrow. Can we just have Dez run a few fade routes for the OSU Snapchat?

Southwell

Am I crazy to think that I prefer the Iowa State 2011/Bedlam 2014 combo better just because the jersey has orange numbers and looks better with the pants? I only feel that way about certain combinations, though, because I’m definitely in favor of black numbers on the white jersey. I like the new look, but it wouldn’t be as high in my rankings as compared to the old threads. Might not crack my top 10.

I think I’m with Carson here. I get why you guys like the old ones better (and boy do I love the old ones), but the orange trim around the numbers does it for me. That’s enough. I also think this is one of those combos that will look better with non-1 numbers (which is all we’ve seen so far).

The pants pop, the tops rock and if we go black helmets with an orange throwback bronc rider or a 1970s “OSU” slanted diagonally, I might never recover from that.
