Cowboys Earn Two Verbal Commitments Sunday, Four on the Weekend
The 2017 class grew by 4 members over the weekend in a huge recruiting haul for Mike Gundy and his staff. On Saturday, two defensive backs – Kris McCune and LaMarcus Morton made commitments to OSU within 10 minutes of each other.
And on Sunday, there was more good news waiting, which was foreshadowed by this tweet from offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.

The first commitment made public was San Antonio offensive lineman Derek Kerstetter, a recent Cowboy offer who wasted hardly any time with his decision. Kerstetter is a 6-5, 290-pound tackle who was a first-team all district selection in his junior season.

Per 247sports.com, he holds 11 Div. I offers from Texas Tech, Colorado State, Bowling Green, Houston, Kansas, Illinois, Toledo, UTSA, North Texas, New Mexico, and Minnesota. His OSU offer came just 4 days ago, and it appears during a trip to Stillwater this weekend it was enough to convince him OSU was the place to be.

The second commitment on Sunday came from Keller, Texas tight end Spencer Misko. Misko is a 6-5, 225-pound prospect listed and recruited by many as a defensive end. The Cowboys are looking at him at Cowboy back, where they extended an offer today — and he too wasted no time with his decision by committing the day he picked up the offer.
Proud to say that I have received an offer & verbally committed to Oklahoma State University! #GoPokes #CowboyBack pic.twitter.com/NYwAOuj9ca

Misko is a sleeper prospect whom OSU clearly did their homework on, and I really, really like the addition. Big framed tight end/defensive end in the mold of Blake Jarwin and, with his self-reported 40-time at 4.59, he can bring a versatility to the Cowboy back position that frankly OSU has been missing. Jarwin is a classic tight end who can block on the edge and run across the middle. But I really think this is a big-time grab for OSU with an under-the-radar prospect, and fortunately for the coaches he seems to be pretty set with his decision seeing he wasted hardly any time with it.
