Blind Side Protected

One of the newest Cowboys is just what we’re looking for.

(Aaron Cochran) will bring a two-year starting left tackle to the program that lost two-year starter Victor Salako to graduation after last season and the options this spring where rushing red-shirt freshman Dylan Galloway, who will be a good player in time into starting or moving right tackle and three-year starter Zach Crabtree over to the left side and have Shane Richards play the right tackle. Richards is a junior college product from Canada that has not started at this level.

Cochran has two years starting in a similar style offense and look at the video. He is big at 6-8, 351 pounds, but has good feet and is strong. [GoPokes]

Landing Cochran’s services has been one of the biggest disclaimers in any high expectations for this offense. Landing the Golden Bear’s services will at the least pick up where Victor Salako left off last year, or possibly even improve with significant size and starting experience.

Mercy.

Distraught Doug

Doug talks about not getting his Yankees job.

“It suddenly got very real to (his wife),” Gottlieb said. “It became, not everybody, but almost everybody said ‘This is a formality. It’s going to happen. To go from zero to 100. …And then to the…I was literally, I landed from Oklahoma, driving from the airport to my radio show, and I got a call like ‘Hey, you ain’t getting it.’ And then they hired somebody completely unexpected. The air didn’t slowly come out of the balloon; somebody popped it, and I was in a million different pieces on the sidewalk. So, it was a lot.” [Awful Announcing]

Arguments against Doug can be made but something about a guy feeling inches away from his dream job and processing the loss just resonates and he’s hard not to pull for. “A million different pieces on the sidewalk.”
