I am at the CBS Sports Mothership this week so posting has been a bit slow. Apologies for that. I’m heading back tomorrow, and we will hit the weekend hard.

Football News

Ramon Richards on campus squirrels: “The squirrels out here are bad. They’ll take your money. They’ll take the shoes off your feet if you ain’t looking.” [ESPN]

Breaking down the play of Mason Rudolph so far. [PFB]

David Glidden is coaching HS football. Here’s what he said about the work: “A lot of the small details that kind of guy unnoticed in the high school level that are really brought to your attention at the college level are what I’m trying to focus on with some of them. Learning who is who and what kids can do things well is all part of it. I’m still adjusting to that.” [NewsOK]

Three players on ESPN’s midseason All-Big 12 team. [ESPN]

Matt Ammendola loves him some Stillwater. [PFB]

Wait, student tickets are loaded onto your ID cards? That’s not a great idea. We used to pass around tickets all the time in college so people could go. Now you can’t. [CRFF]

Kansas coach David Beaty on James Washington: “One of the more dynamic players in the conference… You just flip on the Texas game alone, he makes a couple of plays in that game that are just ridiculous. He should have been tackled two or three times in a couple of those plays and somehow he stays on his feet and goes the distance against some really good players.” [NewsOK]

This is hilarious.

Around the Country

It is, of course, imperative to note that the numbers are only relevant to the brains studied by the foundation. It’s reasonable to assume that the majority of brains for head trauma study are donated because of possible issues. But given the rate of discovery, it’s unreasonable to assume that CTE isn’t common among all people who have played football for a considerable amount of time. [Yahoo]

Crying!

This was great.

Expansion News

This on the future of expansion in the Big 12 is pretty fascinating. OSU seems to potentially have options. [SB Nation]

I unfortunately agree with this on future conference championship games: OU-Texas in a Metroplex rematch, with a Sugar Bowl berth at worst and a College Football Playoff berth at best on the line, would be solid gold. [NewsOK]

Recruiting News

OSU’s top safety recruit has a trip planned to Stillwater for November. [PFB]

Hoops News

OSU as the No. 47 team in the country? I’m in. [CBS Sports]

Mason Cox on his first season in the AFL and why he’s trying to become a citizen of Australia. [ESPN]
