Jordan Burton on Baylor’s big plays (x-plays): “All of the x-plays were preventable. Sometimes we just have to play better technique. Sometimes we just have to make plays when we’re in position. It’s stuff that we can correct, come back and get better at.” Not sure about all of them (Ish Vick might be uncover-able), but the point remains … OSU can be a lot better. [NewsOK]

Gundy on the loss: “I don’t get very upset anymore. I’ve learned it’s just wasting time. I let things eat at me back then and worried about issues that were a waste of time to worry about.” [O’Colly]

With a Big 12 long on good teams, but so far seemingly short on great ones, Saturday night’s wildly entertaining tilt in Waco figures to be the first of many thrilling fourth-quarter finishes this conference season in a Big 12 race that appears to be as wide open as ever. Especially considering that the gap between the Big 12’s top team — whoever that might be — and the eighth one — whoever that might be — doesn’t appear to be significant. [ESPN]

Speaking of the president. I want to see Mike Gundy debate …

Also, this was tremendous.

Justin Southwell graded the uniforms from Saturday. [PFB]

Gundy on Justice Hill: “If you’re asking me because he fumbled, what are we going to do? We’re going to give him the ball, make him run again.” [Tulsa World]

One of Texas’ linemen was suspended for this week’s game in Stillwater. [PFB]

Glenn Spencer on giving up 35 to Baylor: “It eats at you. I could say the right thing, but I don’t know what the right thing would be. It eats your gut out. You wake up every hour, and that’s on your mind. That’s the way it should be, if you’re a competitor.” [Tulsa World]

Podcast No. 83. Carson and I talk about the Baylor game. [PFB]

Les Miles, Gone

Lester exits gracefully, and Mike Gundy discusses why he was canned. [PFB]

We should all want a Miles Big 12 encore. Picture him coaching against protege Mike Gundy or Boone Pickens. [Tulsa World]

More Gundy on Les: “His winning percentage was better than Nick Saban’s at LSU. Les Miles is a good football coach. A lot of people would argue about offense, but that’s not his style. He sticks with what he’s comfortable with. I know the guy’s intelligent. He hasn’t forgotten the game. Just the world we live in today.” [NewsOK]

Gary Patterson on Miles: “Because of money and everything, the way the world is now, there’s not a lot of patience. That’s one reason I’ve stayed here. TCU has treated me well, and it’s a great place to live. There’s some patience to make good decisions when things aren’t going exactly the way you want them to. I feel fortunate to have the job that I have.” [NewsOK]

The best.
