Dez Bryant Breaks Franchise Record With 50th TD From Tony Romo

Tony Romo returned to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. He found Dez Bryant early in the 4th in the end zone for the 50th time of their careers. That’s a new franchise record.

Here’s the Dallas Morning News.

“Before we ran the play, we were like touchdown, touchdown, touchdown,” Bryant said. “I’m thinking in my head 99.9 percent [chance] this ball will probably come here, and damn, I got to be focused and I was, and we executed that play.”

It was the 50th time the two have connected for a touchdown, surpassing the franchise record of 49 set by Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin.

“That is pretty cool, but you know what they got, though? They got three [Super Bowl rings],” Bryant said. “That’s the goal, man. I’m not trying to think too far ahead, but that’s the goal.”

Dez also spoke pretty candidly about a pregame speech Romo gave on Saturday evening.

“Outstanding,” Dez Bryant said. “Felt it. I got chills. I’ll tell you that. He talks to us, but that was kind of different. I think he already got all our respect. I think he just made all of us play a little bit different and be more focused with everything because he was basically telling us, you know, he needs us and we have to be there for him.”

He mentioned it again after the game.

The only thing I’m bummed about? That Brandon Weeden never got a real chance to make magic with No. 88.
