Eddie Sutton Snubbed from Naismith Hall of Fame Induction Again
Eddie Sutton once again fell short of enough votes to get into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Monday.
For the fifth time as a finalist, Sutton did not get the necessary 18 out of 24 votes from the selection committee to be inducted.
Sutton finished his career with 806 wins, three Final Four appearances, and 26 NCAA tournament appearances as a head coach. Of those, trips, 2 Final Four appearances were made during his tenure at Oklahoma State, and half of those NCAA tournament appearances came while he was in Stillwater.
Despite the unprecedented success, he was snubbed from the committee once again.
The committee announced Monday that the 2016 Naismith Hall of Fame class inductees will include notable members Tom Izzo, Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson, and Yao Ming. For a full list of inductees, you can check them out here.
