Emmanuel Ogbah Moves Down in Mel Kiper’s Latest Mock Draft

There will be a lot of chatter surrounding Oklahoma State’s Emmanuel Ogbah leading up to the NFL draft just over three weeks from now. Ogbah, a standout prospect at the NFL combine, has received mixed reviews from scouts ranging from a “hot and cold tape” to projections that he could go in the top 15 later this month.

NFL draft analyst Mel Kiper has been fairly high on Ogbah relatively speaking, projecting him at No. 29 in his mock draft 3.0 in March.

Another month, another mock draft for Mel Kiper. He released his mock draft 4.0 Wednesday, and now has Emmanuel Ogbah falling all the way to No. 30 to the Carolina Panthers.

Here’s what Kiper had to say about Ogbah via ESPN:

The Panthers will be reminded how impactful a dominating pass-rush can be every time they roll the Super Bowl tape — though I don’t suspect that’ll be too often. Kony Ealy is on the rise, but Charles Johnson turns 30 this summer, and Ogbah has major upside. Again: You can’t have enough good pass-rushers.

Ogbah traveled to Tampa Bay earlier this week, to visit with a Buccaneers team that holds the No. 9 pick in the first round, and also held a private workout for the Detroit Lions, who hold the No. 16 pick. So for now, Ogbah has a mid-to-late first round projection, but it looks like there is some high interest for teams picking in the top half of the draft.
