Glenn Spencer Not Taking UTSA Job, Sends Tweet
On Thursday evening, LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson was named the new UTSA head coach following in the footsteps of a former Oklahoma State coach, Larry Coker.
According to multiple media reports, the head coaching position at UTSA came down to OSU defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer and the newly named Wilson.
While the numbers on his 2015 defense were not great, it’s hard to argue that Spencer hasn’t made drastic improvements during his time as the defensive coordinator. His energy and ability to fire up his squad are unquestionable, and his enthusiasm for the game not only makes him a fan favorite, but clearly spills over into his players attitudes. Keeping Spencer in town is a big off the field win for Gundy.
Here’s what he had to say on Twitter afterward:
I can't wait for a great weekend and finish this class with tremendous players joining the Pokes. Outrageous passion to be great this year.

OSU is in for a big recruiting weekend, and with all the pieces in place as a coaching staff, the Cowboys are in a great position to finish the recruiting cycle strong with less than a month until national signing day.
