Here’s what Brad Underwood Owes Stephen F. Austin for Leaving
Fortunately for Brad Underwood, his buyout at Stephen F. Austin was a bit lower than that of former OSU coach Travis Ford. According to Steve Berkowitz of USA Today, Underwood will owe SFA a $250,000 buyout for leaving.

For most normal people, a $250K buyout sounds like a death sentence. The details regarding Underwoods deal (length, amount, etc.) have not been announced yet, but a $250,000 buyout in the coaching world is a very reasonable amount – and as Underwood said at his farewell presser on Monday, it all came at just the right time.  His annual salary at SFA was $400K according to ESPN, but you can expect that to be quite a bit higher in Stillwater. And you can also bet that $250,000 bill is being footed by the powers that be at Oklahoma State.
