Highly Touted Wallace Twins Say Location Was Factor in Commitment
Oklahoma State had a productive day on the recruiting trail Monday, landing commitments from twin standouts Tylan and Tracin Wallace from Fort Worth South Hills.
Tylan, an Under Armour All-American receiver, had this to say about his decision via the Star-Telegram:
They were just a college that was close to home that gives us the opportunity to play where my brother and I both wanted to play. It’s pretty special because not everyone gets to have the opportunity that we have.
And Tracin, a quarterback for his high school team, was forced out of his junior season due to injury. But the Cowboys kept their scholarship offer on the table, despite the injury, which obviously paid off big time.
And it wasn’t a particularly dumb decision, either. Tracin was coming off a season in 2014 in which he threw for 2,123 yards, ran for 1,391, and combined for 50 total touchdowns.
Tylan has accumulated 2,827 yards receiving and 36 touchdowns in three years at South Hills. So the coup to land both twins was a major one for Mike Gundy and his staff.
