Justice Hill Is Joe Randle, Justice Hill Is Joe Randle

I keep saying it. And I’m going to continue saying it until his career in Stillwater is over.

Here is a comparison of their freshman seasons so far. Remember, Randle didn’t play that much his freshman year because of Kendall Hunter. He did, however, catch a lot of passes which is something OSU has yet to explore with Hill — probably because it has other, better pass-catching RBs.

Anyway, here are their freshman year numbers.

From a rushing standpoint, almost identical. And Hill’s came against better teams. Now, I’m not saying Hill will have the absurd career in Stillwater that Joe Randle had, but that is certainly the trajectory. The other thing in watching both of them is that Randle is bigger. Or at least taller. He also had better hands (he also had better hands than most OSU wide receivers).

The thing they share, though, is that star quality. The ability to take one look at one play and be assured of a strong future. They run the same way — with a fluidity that entrances and an explosion that makes you gasp. And heck, if Hill has 80 percent the career Randle had, he will go down as one of the better RBs in the Mike Gundy era.
