Leyton Hammonds Says Brad Underwood’s Culture at OSU Is ‘Dream Big’
Leyton Hammonds has become somewhat of a spokesperson for this OSU basketball team, and he does a good job of bridging the gap between fan and coach. He has clearly bought into Brad Underwood’s methodologies and discussed them a little bit at Big 12 Media Day on Tuesday.
“He holds us to a high standard, but he holds himself to a high standard,” Leyton Hammonds told the Tulsa World. “If we don’t give him our all and he’s giving us his all, it’s not fair. I respect Coach for that. It teaches us how to be men. You’ve gotta give everything your all, whatever it is you’re doing. You can be writing a paper, playing basketball or tending to your wife.”
When asked what he hopes the future culture for OSU hoops is, Hammonds said it’s all about dreams.
“Dream big,” said Hammonds. “That’s coach’s motto. Dream big. Why not us? Down the line, 100 years from now, I hope the Oklahoma State basketball team is playing for the Final Four and their motto is ‘dreaming big.'”
