Mike Gundy Becomes First Head Coach With His Own App

Mike Gundy: Former starting QB, head football coach, future tech mogul? Gundy just shocked pretty much all of us and dropped a mobile app on Thursday. You heard that right, Mike Gundy just released his own free mobile app to the Apple store and Android store! It’s called the “Coach Gundy” app, and every OSU fan would do well to download it ASAP. There are 24 sections on the navigation menu, so let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

Nike Swag

You better believe the second menu option on the Mike Gundy is called “Nike Swag”!!! This section links to the “photos” section on the OSU Nike “Evolve” page, here. If you want to get jacked about the new football uniforms for 2016, navigate here.

Photo Gallery

It gets better — this section of the Gundy app has photos of Mike Gundy himself, ranging from current day pictures on the sidelines, a pic with Dez, and even a few throwbacks from his playing days.

Other galleries include the New Nike Uniforms, Saddle Up (photo edits and some solid options for a new background, if you’re looking for one), Boone Pickens Stadium, OSU’s campus, Sherman E. Smith Training center, the West End Zone, and pictures recently uploaded from this year’s 2016 training camp. The fact that Gundy has his own photo gallery combined with the return of the mullet has me thinking this Cowboys team can run the table. Hey … our coach is undefeated off the field this fall so far …

Academics

The Gundy app even steps outside of the football program in this menu option on the app. It includes links to apply to Oklahoma State University for prospective students, academic services, The NCAA eligibility center (hope Lucas N’Guessan checks this one out), and even federal student aid, to help pay for college. A graduate of Oklahoma State? Gundy’s got you covered, with a link to the OSU alumni Association’s web page, where you can become a member of the alumni association, check the events calendar, and more. What can’t this app do?!?!

Ask Gundy

Want to ask Gundy himself a question about his mullet? Who’s starting at running back in week 1? His thoughts on Bedlam? Well now you can. This section gives the user a form to fill out, with name, phone number, e-mail and a message box. I assume this will be answered by a member of the football program, but feel free to try and reach the head ball coach himself.

Walk-Ons

Incredibly, the Gundy app includes a section for walk-on information, for those interested in joining the football program without a scholarship. Among the tryout activities are height and weight measurements, a max bench press rep. and a 40 yard dash time.

Camps

Last but not least, a link to Mike Gundy football camp is included on the mobile app. Obviously the 2016 camp has ended, but contact information regarding the 2017 camp dates is included in this section.

As you can see, this is a mobile app that far exceeds anything strictly relating to head football coach Mike Gundy. It encompasses all things Oklahoma State football and even more. While it remains to be seen the level of involvement Coach Gundy actually had in the development and design of the app, it is absolutely worth a download for Cowboys fans, on iPhones and Android devices alike.
