Nick Robinson Talks OSU Offer, Names Cowboys as Leader
Putnam City West tight end/defensive end prospect Nick Robinson is one of several big-time 2017 recruits the Cowboys are targeting, and on Tuesday OSU made the pursuit official by offering a scholarship to the 6-4, 220-lb standout from Putnam City West.
“It was just a blessing,” Robinson said of his offer from the Pokes on Tuesday. “I was honestly just shocked.” Oklahoma State was the third Div. I offer he received on Tuesday alone (!), along with Memphis and Indiana, who offered earlier in the day.
Robinson plays a little defensive end, tight end, and receiver, but he said the Pokes are looking at him to fill the hybrid “cowboy back” tight end position in Stillwater. Jason McEndoo, the tight ends coach who made the offer to him, is his lead recruiter.
When asked if he had a preference at a specific position at the next level, he was swift and to the point: “No, I don’t have a preference. I just like to be on the field and I like to compete.”
Although the process is still early at this point with just less than a year until national signing day, he says he already has a leader but will take his time with a decision. “I’m just going to enjoy the recruitment process for now. I don’t have a [time frame] for making a decision … But OSU is my top school right now.”
