Notebook: Oklahoma State-Kansas

Kansas-Oklahoma State part 2 in Allen Fieldhouse was a blast…. Here’s my leftover notes from the night. You can read my five thoughts on the game here.

  • Cowboys jump to quick 8-0 start fueled by a game-leading three-point bucket by Mitchell Solomon. Just as expected.
  • Oklahoma State grabs a ton of momentum, makes a big steal and run out in transition…Only to miss the layup. Didn’t even hit the rim. Nerves for Carroll?
  • Joe Burton has been promoted in the lineup…Not sure if its a foul trouble deal, but he’s already seeing good playing time early.
  • Clip hits from Stillwater….But Kansas is forcing the Pokes WAY out. Not letting them take it in.

  • Olivier’s jumper from the baseline earlier was THWACKED (not sure thats a word) by Diallo earlier. But Cowboys keep coming at him, he keeps delivering.
  • For as bad as Mitch shoots from downtown….I still like him coming in and unleashing from anywhere. I think.
  • Bill Self will have nightmares about Chris Oliviers left hook.
  • For as incredible a first half OSU has had….they still find themselves playing from behind with 3:00 left to play. Down 33-28.
  • 23-6 run by the Jayhawks. Cowboys down 47-34 at half. The rest of this notebook could be NSFW.
  • So… when’s the midseason point guard tryouts? Can the Pawnee Pistol still give it a go…?
  • This Brannen Greene kid can ball a little bit. He’s maybe the 7th man in their rotation? We need one of these.
  • Pokes cut it to as close at 6… but the doors have been blown open. Salt in all the wounds.
  • One meme to describe the second half:

well
