Notebook: Oklahoma State-Kansas State

Five thoughts are here. Here’s the rest of my notebook.

• Seeing Eddie Sutton at the game made wonder the following: If Eddie and Travis drafted players from OSU’s current group and played each other pickup style in a five game series (to 21), Eddie’s team rolls, right?

• Hammonds and Newberry were a combined 8/30 from the field.

• That earthquake in Oklahoma today was Coach Iba rolling over in his grave in anticipation of this game.

• Kansas State took a 20-foot 8-inch two-pointer with 15 seconds left in a tie game. Bruce Weber!

• Pretty cool.

• I kept thinking the announcer was saying “D Wade” but he was saying “Dean Wade” who is a slow, tall white guy for KSU.

• Injured players and OSU managers vs. current starting five. Who you got?

• Our offense … whoooo boy, it’s really poor. We always knew it would be without Jawun Evans, but it might be even worse than I imagined. The “dribble around and yank from 20 feet because the shot clock is running thin” O is page one on the playbook right now.

• Oklahoma State scored seven points in the last 10:34 of the first half. And they led by five at halftime.

• This really is difficult to believe.

• Cezar Guerrero thinks Jeff Newberry’s shot selection is questionable.

• Does anyone know what #TNT means? It gets tweeted a lot by folks associated with the OSU basketball program and I can only assume it’s a subtle way of them saying they want to blow the whole thing up after the season and start over.

• I watched it. And yes it does.

Oklahoma State hasn't made a field goal in almost four minutes and leads by six. That summarizes the half.

• Oklahoma State came into this game 1-9 in its last 10 Big 12 games with the lone win over … Kansas.

• I have legitimately seen A League Intramural title games played on this same floor that were more enjoyable to watch than this game was in the first half. Then it got worse.

• This was pretty legit.

• How often do you think ESPN regrets its deal to televise Big 12 games when OSU is playing? Every game or just the ones not against Kansas?
