Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year Offered Walk-on Spot at OSU
Two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year Mason Fine reportedly was offered a preferred walk-on spot to Oklahoma State to play quarterback.
Fine, who holds the Oklahoma state record for single season and career passing yards and touchdowns, has been recruited by offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who told him he is “a bit vertically challenged.”
At five-foot-ten, Fine would have gained a ton of interest from programs across the country, but due to his slightly small stature, he does not have a Div. I scholarship offer.
The Cowboys already have one quarterback verbally committed in the 2016 recruiting class with Nick Starkel, and Berryhill’s Nyc Burns has already committed to joining the program as a preferred walk-on as well. Fine would be an interesting addition, given that Yurcich says his game is “flawless.”
