Oklahoma State Headed to Omaha For 2016 College World Series
I guess the common denominator is Josh Holliday. The current Oklahoma State head coach was a player on the 1999 Oklahoma State team that was the last OSU squad to make it to Omaha for the College World Series. That is, until Sunday.
Oklahoma State bested South Carolina 3-1 on Sunday for its first trip to Omaha this century. They also finally let themselves celebrate after a workmanlike, muted celebration after winning the Clemson Regional. Here’s how that went down.
For OSU its the 20th time in its baseball history it will play for the CWS title. Oh, and here’s a new look at the OSU baseball logo after going 4-0 against Clemson then South Carolina. The state has given us so much of late. Brad Underwood (via Stephen F. Austin), Mason Rudolph and now a CWS appearance.
Here is the new #okstate baseball logo. Board of regents will hopefully approve later this summer. pic.twitter.com/io7gw54wUi

Oklahoma State, which is one of only two teams (FSU) to not lose yet in the 64-team tourney, joins Arizona, Texas Tech, Miami and UCSB as the first five in the eight-team bracket in Omaha. The CWS starts next Saturday, June 18.
