Oklahoma State Misses Big Opportunity to Make Impression with Recruits
As noted earlier in the weekend, Oklahoma State hosted several big time recruits for Bedlam. Among those, five-star tight end Isaac Nauta and five-star linebacker Mique Juarez.
Five-star prospects don’t come around often in Stillwater, and the Cowboys didn’t do themselves any favors on the field to make a favorable impression. The tight end position is banged up, but was a non-factor in Bedlam. And the linebackers, also banged up, couldn’t wrap up and looked gassed, as Gundy assessed after the game.
From a recruits perspective, both Nauta and Juarez could see both positions need considerable upgrades for the future. But from the same perspective, five-star prospects generally want to attend a place where they can thrive immediately, and more importantly, be put in a good position to make it to the NFL.
On Saturday, the only noticeable NFL talent on the field was No. 38 for the Cowboys. The Cowboys were rolled by the Sooners, and unless they make considerable headway with their relationships and can lure them in from the first perspective, they missed out on a great opportunity to wow some elite recruits while they were on campus.
