OSU Commit Nyc Burns Drawing Attention from Multiple Schools
OSU’s lone quarterback in the 2016 recruiting class, Nyc Burns, is committed as a preferred walk-on but is still drawing interest from other Div. I schools.
According to a source close to Nyc, North Texas’ offensive coordinator will be at Berryhill High School today to watch him throw and evaluate him. This just a week after Burns picked up an offer from Missouri Valley FCS school Drake University.
North Texas has several quarterbacks on the radar; most notably Nick Starkel, a former OSU commit, who has UNT in his final options.
Nyc is also expected to host Matthew Christian, running backs coach for New Mexico State, sometime next week to do the same.
I’m told that Nyc is “VERY committed to OSU”, but it’s a tough situation to be in for Nyc. Given the fact that these are potential full ride scholarships versus a preferred walk-on status at OSU, it may be a tough position if things were to escalate with either school.
Based on conversations with the coaches, I am told that an offer from both schools is expected. We’ll have more on this as the week progresses, but it appears OSU’s under the radar gem from Berryhill has been uncovered.
