It would appear that the Cowboys won’t sit around and wait to see what Nick Starkel’s final decision will be. The Cowboys have been recruiting 6-foot-7, 230-pound quarterback/athlete Tony Poljan and, on Wednesday evening, made a scholarship offer to the 2015 Gatorade Michigan Football Player of the Year award winner.

Poljan threw for 1,907 yards and 15 touchdowns his senior season, to go with 1,232 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns on the ground. He also played linebacker for his squad, collecting 74 tackles, four fumbles, two sacks, and an interception.

“He’s an extremely skilled player on both sides of the football,” said Bret Shrader, his head coach. “He has the size and strength to play different positions on offense and defense at the next level. Even more impressive: This (was) only his third year as a quarterback. His stats back up his skill set.”
Poljan had been committed to Minnesota to play quarterback since May, but opened his recruitment up at the end of November after Jerry Kill’s resignation. He also holds scholarship offers from Nebraska to play tight end, along with Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, Buffalo, Toledo, and now Oklahoma State.
