OSU Offers 2017 Canadian RB Chuba Hubbard

Oklahoma State has started a really interesting trend over the last two years. For a second consecutive year, the Cowboys are digging into Canadian territory to establish a recruiting presence. Last year, they found hidden gem and linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga from Calgary Alberta, and they seem to have uncovered another prospect in this cycle. On Tuesday, they offered 6-1, 190-lb. 2017 running back Chuba Hubbard, from Edmonton Alberta.

This isn’t a “shot in the dark” type offer, either. Hubbard is a flat out monster on the football field who can scorch the competition with his blazing speed.

“He’s the fastest 16 year old in North America,” OSU signee Amen Ogbongbemiga said following the offer on Tuesday.

Ogbongbemiga is right, too. He’s a top-flight track star, who represented Canada at the world youth championships, finishing in fourth place in the 100M, with a time of 10.55 seconds.

It’s pretty evident he won’t be a Canadian secret much longer. He also picked up a big offer from Tennessee, and judging by his film, there’s many more to come.

According to the Edmonton Journal, Hubbard rushed for 2,243 yards and 27 touchdowns last year … in just 8 games. That’s an average of more than 20 yards per carry and 280 yards per game (!).
