Poll Results: 88 Percent Glad Glenn Spencer Is Staying
I put this poll out a few weeks ago and forgot to return to it until today. I wanted to know if you were glad Glenn Spencer wasn’t taking the UTSA job and was instead staying as the Oklahoma State defensive coordinator.
This sounds like a ludicrous question at the outset, but remember Spencer’s defense was statistically one of the worst of the Gundy era in 2015. But 88 percent of you are glad Spencer is returning. Here’s how the final poll looked.
I voted with the “I’m glads” as well. Spencer’s D was not great in 2015, but Big 12 offenses were historically great. Baylor, Texas Tech and OU were all in the top seven in points per offensive drive. TCU was No. 31. Ole Miss was No. 19. These were incredible offenses.
That doesn’t excuse the performance that was posted in the final month of the season, but it does sort of explain it. OSU needs to get better on defense, yes, but I’m confident that Spencer is somebody who eschews days off, vacation time and probably sleep to figure out how to make that happen.
Plus, who would tweet out sweet warrior poems on game days?
