Ranking the Oklahoma State Helmets of the Last Five Years

Published

on

Let’s rank every helmet since Oklahoma State went all Oregon with its uniforms back in 2011. You guys will not agree with this list, but that’s what the comments section is for. Hope you enjoy.

1. The throwbacks

They were so perfect. They got lost because of which week OSU wore them last year, but I loved them.

2. The Other Throwbacks

Has OSU only worn these once? If so, how? Why?

Cowboy

3. The carbon fiber

I might be alone here, but it’s the best non-throwback lid they wear.

6

4. White stripe with black brand

This should be the new traditional white helmet. Maybe it is. A great update to modern college football.

3

5. All Black

Not sure how these are 5th. Still elite. That’s a pretty legit list of top five helmets, by the way. I’d put it up against any other team’s top five.

6. Chrome with Pete

For some reason the combination of Pete + chrome works. I’m not in love with either on its own, but this is a good lid.

7. Stripe with crazy Pete

By taking the brand away, you’re making it worse. Still strong though.

Crazy

8. Orange chrome

It’s just too much. I get it. I understand why and that some people love them. I’m just not all in.

9. The Plain White with Black brand

The transition between the old plain brand (more on that in a minute) and the new helmet with the black brand. I used to think these were incredible. Now we have the ones at No. 4.

10. Black Pete

The chrome makes this one a lot better.

11. Old Brand

I feel sort of nostalgic for these. They’re so plain looking now though. They look like practice helmets somebody threw a sticker on from Chris’ University.

White

12. Icy white

A nice idea. Not a great look.

13. All-orange

No.

OSU

14. The LEGOs

One is a LEGO helmet, the other is a Big 12 helmet. What is the difference?

Make it stop.
