Recruiting: An Offensive Wish List for 2016

Published

on

Signing day is still several months away, however the 2016 recruiting class already holds 15 verbal commitments, with several top targets still remaining on the board for the Cowboys. Let’s take a look at some of the top targets on the offensive side of the ball, and where Oklahoma State may stand.

Tramonda Moore – Offensive Tackle

Moore is still being pursued heavily by the Oklahoma State coaching staff, and he is priority No. 1 on this list. A 6’6, 330-pound offensive lineman from John Marshall (OKC), he could easily see some playing time as a true freshman should he decide to head to Stillwater. He gets a lot of love from the coaches, as you can see from his twitter.

Camron Williams – Wide Receiver

Oklahoma State already has a solid option to replace David Glidden in the slot with Jenks standout Dillon Stoner, who is the only receiver committed in this 2016 cycle. Williams would be an excellent weapon to bring in, and it’s likely if the Cowboys don’t land him, they’ll be stuck playing against him for four years.

Donte Coleman – Tight End

Coleman was committed to Taco Tech up until two weeks ago, before deciding to back off his verbal commitment. Gundy has said he wants to recruit at least one “Cowboy back” per recruiting class, and Coleman could fill that need. He has offers from Texas, Nebraska, Arizona State, and 11 other top schools. Coleman is a 6-4, 220-pound tight end who would be a nice player to transition into the Cowboy back role in the offense.

The list for offense is pretty thin; the staff has done an excellent job at filling in key position needs along the offensive line and at running back. These are the remaining top targets as I see them, but as recruiting goes, things can usually change pretty quickly.
