The Reload: Brown Making Visit, Trae Young Cutting List, Lamb Makes Final Decision
The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.
Four-star safety making visit
Somewhat surprisingly, four-star Ashdown, Arkansas safety Montaric Brown is making a visit to Oklahoma State today. Brown made a visit to Stillwater earlier this spring and subsequently named a top five of Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, Auburn and OSU. Earlier in July, he announced he would be making his final commitment, but then decided he would continue his process and make visits before deciding. Along with OSU, he still plans to take return visits to Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama and LSU.
ESPN ranks Brown as the No. 11 safety in the 2017 class and the nation’s No. 180 overall prospect.
Former Baylor commit visits Stillwater
According to a report from gopokes.com, Bellaire, Texas defensive back Donovan Stiner made a visit to Stillwater last week. The former Baylor pledge backed off his commitment after the Art Briles situation at Baylor. Since his decommitment, Stiner has picked up offers from TU, OSU, and Rice. The 6-2 safety has a slew of other options on the table, but this report confirms that OSU is making big moves to try and fill the spot left open by Ty Thomas at safety after he flipped from OSU to Arizona State. Safety will be a big point of emphasis for OSU in this 2017 class.
Trae Young Releasing Final List “Soon”
OKC area point guard Trae Young, a five-star prospect, took to twitter to announce his final list is “coming soon.”
His current list of schools includes 11 schools but according to a report from a few weeks ago, OU, Kentucky, Kansas, and Washington are all in good shape with OSU and Texas as dark horses in his recruitment. When the final list comes, I would expect OSU will make that cut.
Four-star receiver Cedarian Lamb Commits to OU
Four-star Foster, TX receiver Ceedee Lamb made his pledge (again) to the Sooners on Monday, after backing off his first original commitment to OU. Lamb at one time considered the Pokes in his top schools, however most believed he would indeed join back up with OU.
