The Reload: New Running Back Offers, Basketball Prospects Visit

The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.

Two Hoops Targets Make Unofficial Visits

The first, and most intriguing target visiting Stillwater yesterday was four-star point guard Zack Dawson, who made the trip from Miami, Florida. Dawson is a big-time guard who has offers from Iowa State, TCU, Arizona, and many others. Interestingly, I would keep an eye on whether he comes away from the visit with an offer. With Dawson visiting and clearly high on the radar, he could be a name to watch in 2017 along with Trae Young and Collin Sexton. Dawson is rated No. 67 in ESPN’s top 100 prospects.

[Update: 4:20pm — Dawson has committed to OSU.]

The second visitor came from Charles Smith IV, a 2019 target whom OSU offered just this past week. As we reported yesterday, Smith was planning the visit and it looks like he did indeed make the trip to Stillwater. Smith is a rising freshman who is surely going to blow up over the next few years — and Underwood is doing his work to get in on the young man early in the process.

Four-star small forward offered by OSU

Sidney Wilson, a Bronx, NY native, has been offered by OSU as he reported on his twitter account from yesterday. The 6-6 wing has offers from Indiana, Rutgers, St. John and others. He’d be a big wing pickup for the 2017 class.

New Running Back Offers

OSU has offered freshman Deondrick Glass from Katy high school. Glass was a MaxPreps all-american last year and already the 2019 prospect has offers from Florida State, Arkansas, OSU, Tennessee and Washington.

The second running back offer is to Jaelen Gill, an all-purpose back from Westerville, Ohio, and a 2018 prospect. Gill is an elite back from territorry OSU usually doesn’t run past. Gill already has 20 Div. I offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Michigan State, and others.

New offer to JUCO LB Patrick Macon

Arizona Western lineback Patrick Macon reports a new offer from OSU on Tuesday. Macon signed with Arizona Western after being forced to go the JUCO route due to academics. He is a 6-3, 230-pound talent from Millington, TN.

New 2017 Receiver Offer

A new offer to a receiver in 2017 has gone to Arlington Bowie prospect Braydon Johnson. The 6-1 prospect now has offers from Kansas, ULM, Colorado State, Iowa, Minnesota, Utah State and Tulsa. With an elite receiver like Tylan Wallace already in the fold, I really like the new offer to Johnson. He has 4.4 speed and a very high upside — something OSU has the ability to take a chance on given the depth at the receiver position.
